‘Badger

DOB est.  01-01-02

This large male Labrador sat in a Long Island municipal (kill) shelter, ribs jutting from emaciation, suffering life threatening fever and highly contagious lower respiratory infection.  Once entering LILRR, he required 24 days emergency care within isolation at South Bellmore Veterinary hospital before released to foster and subsequent neuter surgery.

After being in the kill shelter for almost 2 months and then caged for medical care, he settled into foster life with a visible smile and wagging tail.  The big-hearted boy gets along fine with other Labs, but clearly craves the attention and affection of humans.

House broken with crate training, he almost purrs when being brushed or vacuumed.   Badger shows a little normal interest in toys, balls and retrieving but relishes marrowbones and relaxing stretched on the sofa.

Steadily gaining weight, he should top off around 80 lbs.  He is a large, strong teddy bear needing continued patience and training and should make a lucky someone very proud.
