Belle D's Story

"Belle"

5 Yr Black Female

October 2007:  Belle’s owner moved and asked coworker to dog-sit for a week or two … months passed and Belle’s owner never came back but she did mail ownership papers to the dog sitter.  Belle is a normal active 5 year black Labrador .  Sitter could not keep her and tried months to make it work but did not have adequate quality time to spend with Belle.  The sitter tried several all-breed rescues with no success and Belle was going to the dog pound if LILRR could not intervene.  This gentle sweetheart entered with filthy ears and a little over-weight but, with meds & regular ear cleaning and proper diet, she is healthy and lives to please her human.  Belle is great with other Labs living in foster.  She loves leisure walks but especially loves being brushed and getting belly rubs … atypical of this breed, Belle is mouthy and will playfully grasp and gently hold onto your arm or wrist.

January 2008 - Belle is adopted...

And her new family came already equipped with another cuddly couch potato, 'Sweet'!

Check back later for updates on beloved Belle and her new furever Sweet-heart!
