"Sabrina & Butter" J.
"Sabrina"

Breeder asked LILRR to place a Lab determined not suitable
for breeding and not placeable. Sabrina, completely unsocialized and
not house raised, was belly to the ground shy and dash away timid.
The foster volunteer worked with the concernably shy Lab for almost two years,
teaching her home and family life, slowly broadening experiences and
easing fears of what other Labs take for granted.
May 1998
Sabrina's forever family comes along --
ready to responsibly continue her reconditioning and socialization, she is
adopted.
July 1998
Sabrina's family increased with the adoption of a second Lab
rescued by LILRR --
"Butter" (pic & story below).
Life now is good - better than good - for this sweetheart named Sabrina ...
a forever family within a home full of love, patience and support
"Butter"

" Butter
"
was purchased by a teenager!
The adorable pupster entered LILRR with an oddly protruding
hip suspected to be an injury. X-rays determined severe hip dysplasia.
Butter accompanied "Heart" on one trip to Cornell University for
more extensive tests and x-rays and consideration for hip surgeries,
but was diagnosed asymptomatic -- surgery was not recommended.
July 1998
Sabrina's new family could not forget another special and
affectionate sprite they spent the afternoon schmoozing with
and contacted LILRR with desire to adopt Butter into their family.
After Sabrina settled in a bit, the second adoption
proceeded and these two rescue pals are reunited - forever!
Butter's dysplasia is carefully monitored through diet
and alternative care. Surgery (should such become necessary to provide
her a continuing pain free and quality life) remains an option.
