'Candy'

February 2006

Two years ago, owner's boyfriend kicked this 15 yr old sweetheart out of home, along with her sibling 12 yr Golden Retriever and 7 yr St. Bernard and relegated to yard with only a rotted lean-to shack as protection from the elements.  Owner recently decided to marry boyfriend and get rid of the furr kids, so Candy entered LILRR foster.   Shaggy and bedraggled, the tired gal desperately needed a thorough vet exam and skin soothing bath...

Fully vetted and groomed, a much cleaner and more relaxed Candy entered LILRR foster.  She is 95% deaf but otherwise healthy for her age, considering outdoor life of past two years.  She appears thrilled to be living inside the home, relaxing on a comfortable doggie bed and watching TV!  She was immediately accepted by other household Labradorables and enjoys leisure walks with them.  Placed on Glucosame/Chondroitin for arthritis, it will take awhile for her body to recoup but there's no medical reason why she won't.
