Join the effort to help save Labs!
October 2004, LILRR rescued a skeleton-thin and severely ill young yellow Lab from a Long Island kill shelter. Time of the essence, he was rushed to vet intensive care; he would not make it another night in the pound. The Lab, now named Rusty, required vet critical care isolation ward, multiple various blood tests and titers and teetered on the edge, continuing to lose weight regardless intensive round the clock care. His vet and medical bills escalated to more than $2,500!
Just in 2004 we rescued a 1 year black female (Liza) with 3rd degree boiling oil burns and 2 year black male (Woody) was visibly dying in front of our eyes - their combined immediate emergency vet/medical and subsequent follow-up medical care wiped the LILRR bank account DRY, and then some! In between and around ongoing daily welfare, general medical and routine vetting, there was Doc and Mo's optometry and Mickey's life threatening respiratory infection and Tucker's mange and life-threatening allergies and Jock's cancer and Zac's tumors and Lexi's emergency x-rays, MRIs, meds costing $2,500 ... the bills climb, on and on and on and on.
We hope you will spare $50, $75, $100, $500 or more to help us save these lives.
