FAQ
What is the adoption fee?
The adoption fee is $250 and set to help cover basic vetting. Basic vetting means a board certified practicing veterinarian provides a thorough physical examination at time of entry and follows up with neuter/spay surgery, makes sure the dog is fully inoculated, titered for worms, heartworm tested and placed on continuing preventative, de-wormed when necessary, determined free of fleas and ticks, permanently identified with a microchip implant, and diagnosed free of communicable disease.
Extensive, life-saving and reparative surgeries and life saving medical care are not included within the description of 'basic vetting'. Such great expenses are made possible by donations and fund raising.
A donation is not mandatory but, certainly, is what makes it possible for LILRR to save the lives of Labs needing medical help beyond basic vetting.
