'Jesse'

Jesse, Zeke and Jackson were rescued same day from same NY kill shelter ...

the one day that three was certainly NOT a crowd!  What wonderful Labs!

Many potential adopters met and liked Jesse but kept passing her

by because she was the average well behaved black female Labrador.

Until one special day ... she met Phil & Zyta, their fantastic children and their Dobie

(who quickly decided life would be more special if it included Jesse).

Winter 1997: Chelsea (foreground) and Cherokee ( background)

joins in a pet education event at an area pet supply store.

Jesse joined LILRR at 1999 Dog Walk to benefit the Guide Dog Foundation

Oct. 2000:  Chelsea and family pal "Hershey" celebrate with LILRR

Several years later Mindy the Dobie,  passed away leaving an unyielding void

in their homes and hearts.  Sometime after, they called LILRR concerned about

a Lab in a local kill shelter asking if we could rescue her, but LILRR foster homes were full.

"What if we rescue this Lab?" asked Mr. P ...
