Purchased impulsively, the pup was later abandoned
with family unable to care for her.
Jesse accompanied LILRR at the 1999 Long Island Pet Expo
wherein she entertained and relished the loving attention
and petting. Not long after, she was united with her forever
family which includes members of the feline persuasion.

Dear LILRR,
I just want to thank you for finding me a wonderful home. I am truly loved here. My mom and I can read each other's minds; we always know what the other is thinking. She does everything for me - good nutrition, vet visits when needed and lots of playtime. She lets her housework slide a lot just to be with me. Dad plays with me in the backyard and nicknamed me "girlfriend". He even likes it when I lick his legs! My brother and sister are awesome, especially my sister -- she plays with me when she comes home from school.
My mom takes me every morning for a one hour romp on a park trail. Mom says it's good for me cause I can run and chase squirrels in a safe environment where there are no cars.
I take my brother to to and from school almost every day and I'm a big hit with the kids and parents at school. My mom tells everyone what a great person you are and what nice dogs you save.
I got to show my mom what a great swimmer I am last summer. My grandparents live on a lake with their three canine children. We had a ball! My mom bought me retrieving toys and made everyone watch me swim. She's SO proud of me. We are going back there next summer for two whole weeks!!
My mom and I send you a Labrador ornament ... every time you look at it, please remember how happy you have made me. I think of you often and I thank God for organizations like yours.
Love,
Jessie
p.s. you were right about my feline siblings ... Daisy rubs all over me all the time and we play games together, and Smokey tolerates it when I lick his ears!!!
