Purchased for $1500.00 as a Christmas present, he required more time than the family had to spare.  He was tested and flunked the Guide Dog Foundation program and Police Dog Training ... not focused enough for either.  He is wonderful with people, children and other dogs (thriving in foster harmoniously with 5 other male Labs).  Completely housebroken and well behaved with normal house manners (of course he will try to steal food from the table or counter top).  Playful, gentle, affectionate 87 lb. teddy bear (vet prefers he lose couple lbs).  The one major problem with Reef is that he pulls like an Ox when leash walked ... he entered wearing a chain choke and prong collars that did not correct the pulling.  He vehemently refused to accept wearing a Gentle Leader but we find the comfortable and humane Sporn Harness works quite well.  Obedience training for leash manners is highly recommended.
