September 11, 2001 ... Police K9 Sirius a yellow Labrador Retriever, was a bomb detection dog with the Port Authority Police of NY and NJ.  He and his handler, Police Officer David Lim, were assigned to the World Trade Center where they often searched hundreds of trucks and vehicles each day.  Officer Lim, trapped in the rubble, was pulled to safety hours later but his K9 partner was killed in the terrorist attack.

In an official presentation to the NYNJPAPD K9 Unit on April 24th at the Memorial held in Liberty State Park NJ, Sirius was immortalized within a portrait, "Salute To Sirius" (unveiled by the artist attending with son, personally arranged by Sandee Nastasi).

Persons that made a donation to the NYNJPAPD in honor of Sirius after the World Trade Center attack received a card depicting the portrait of Sirius and "The Promise" - a poem from award winning author and poet, Walt Zientek.

Sgt. Oliva, of the NYNJPAPD K9 Unit, announced they wish proceeds from "Salute To Sirius" to honor Sirius by helping Labs rescued by Long Island Labrador Retriever Rescue and that a special fund be established to make it possible ...  continue to ordering info.
