Snowy J's Story ...

"Snowy"

DOB 11/18/99

Yellow Female

Purchased from a show breeder/judge who does not offer post-sale assistance for their own offspring, Snowy could not stay with her family because of child allergies.  She entered LILRR grossly obese - dangerously over weight by 35 lbs.!  Super with other dogs and people, Snowy is affectionate, playful and house broken.  On a healthy eating regiment and regular walks, she is slowly shedding the extra pounds and needs someone who will focus on maintaining a healthy diet and exercise.

Craig's 2005 Thanksgiving Story
At Craig's house on Thanksgiving day, everything smelled fantastic! The grownups were in the kitchen filling the best china dishes with all sorts of yummy Thanksgiving food. In the spirit of sharing, every Thanksgiving Craig's family made a big turkey dinner to eat with special friends.
All of a sudden the doorbell rang. It was Gabe, one of Craig's favorite people. "Come in!" Craig said excitedly. "Dinner's almost ready!" I've brought pie," Gabe said smiling, holding up a dish of great-looking pie. And Dad has made turkey, Craig said. This is going to be great!
Dinner was terrific. The turkey and stuffing was especially good this year. But the big question every year at Craig's house was "Who will share the wishbone? " This year was no different! "Me, me!" Craig and Gabe pleaded. The grown-ups smiled. Dad nodded and said, "Go ahead you two"!
Craig and Gabe were given the wishbone. Each grabbed one end and pulled, All of a sudden, the wishbone slipped from their fingers and flew into the air! From nowhere, Snowy appeared and grabbed the wishbone! Everyone jumped up! The grown-ups started shouting: "Get it!" "Grab the bone!" Snowy can't eat that!" "Bones aren't safe for pets!" Chairs fell over and dishes almost crashed to the floor as everyone tried to catch Snowy. Snowy loved all the attention and ran happily around the room, slipping away each time someone got close!
Finally, Dad caught Snowy and got the wishbone away. "Whew! Here it is," Dad said, holding the wishbone in the air for all to see. Oh no! It was broken! For a moment, everyone was silent. Well, Dad said, starting to laugh. "It looks like Snowy gets to make the wish this year! I hope it's a good one!" Then, everyone laughed and applauded. "More pie!" Gabe said.
This is a Thanksgiving to remember always, Craig thought, looking around at all the happy faces. Craig would always remember this Thanksgiving as "Snowy's Thanksgiving Wish!"
