A Labrador With A Heart...
January 1997
Photo when "Heart", a young male, was rescued from kill shelter.
A weak skeleton with barely beating heart, a serious lower respiratory infection
[had lost 85% - 90% lung capacity].
Lengthy & costly life saving efforts successful, a still weak Heart enters
rescue foster home for continuing recovery & rehabilitation.
A very sweet & gentle boy, after several months rehab, displayed pain when
walking or running and was diagnosed with extremely painful bilateral hip dysplasia.
March 1998
Extensive fund raising made it possible to acquire the 1st hip surgery - a success!!
September 1998
Heart's second chance came with a 2nd hip surgery success!!
One special family now has more Heart in their home. Heart is the proud new (co)owner* of a wonderful family! (*family is co-owned with other beloved pets)
