Purpose

The purpose of the committee is to secure the welfare of abandoned and unwanted purebred Labrador Retrievers and orchestrate responsible adoptions for them.   LILRR advocates neuter/spay of pets, and educates toward responsible and lifetime pet stewardship.  The purpose of this committee is not and should not be to bail out irresponsible breeders who will not accept responsibility for the dogs that they have bred and sold.  Neither is it the responsibility of this committee to interfere in the relationship between a breeder and purchaser.  Rather, this committee will work together with responsible breeders to establish a successful and functional network that will facilitate the purpose stated above.

Region

LILRR effort is generally limited to the NY region of Long Island, New York City and North to Scarsdale vicinity.

Organization Contact

LILRR functions solely by the ongoing help of unpaid volunteers located within the region stated above.  Labrador Retrievers within our rescue program reside and are cared for by these volunteers within their own private, family, home.
