My name is Walker, and I'm a two year old boy Chocolate Lab.  Even though I'm two, I'm still a baby at heart.  I want to tell you all my story. When I was just a babe, some bad awful things happened to me, things that shouldn't happen to a dog. I was very sick, had respiratory infections, I was almost starved, and I had numerous puncture holes in my neck, chest and side.  I don't remember if I was shot or stabbed, but I do remember that it hurt real bad. On 12/15/98 a stranger took me to the shelter, where they tried to help me get better.  They fixed up my boo-boo's and neutered me too (Ouch !). Then on 12/31/98, I got the break I was looking for.  I was rescued by the Long Island Labrador Retriever Rescue.  This really nice lady took me home, and put me in a homemade intensive care unit, where I stayed for three weeks. She gave me my medicine, fed me and took great care of me. The LILRR is responsible for my being alive today. When I was back on my paws again, this nice lady (I call her Aunt Sandee)   found me a really good home. My new dad loves me very much, I can tell. We go places together, play ball, and sometimes I even let him sleep in his own bed with me ! Yeh, I'm spoiled. I'm "training" my new family well. I couldn't be happier! But, there are a lot more of my brothers and sisters that need good homes too. They are full of love and devotion, just waiting to give it all to their new adoptive families. So please, if you feel that you have room in your hearts to help my siblings, be sure and call my Aunt Sandee.
